During selecting participants we took into consideration our previous experience and lessons learned from the similar training conducted in 2008: this time more attention was paid to participants’ experience and involvement in community development work rather than to their skills in using video equipments and computer programs. In total there were 11 people participated in the training including 3 coordinators from Taalim-Forum.
All training process was highly dynamic, included lots of games and exercises. In three small groups participants we practicing their facilitating skills and as a result there were three collective videos made together with local communities in Tarsuu, Karol-Dobo, and Kalmak-Ashu villages. The videos were edited and in all three villages public screenings and discussions have been organized. Discussions with participants revealed many problems and opportunities for the future collective activities by using PV. All videos were given to communities on DVDs.
Participants’ ideas of using PV as a tool in their future work with communities were presented in one of the final days of the training. Six projects were proposed by participants.
